Research has shown that in-house professionals and trainees benefit greatly from interacting on a regular basis with others in the same profession but employed by different organisations. With this in mind Akenham, Baker Tilly and Kester Cunningham John have decided to launch the East Anglia HR Forum in Bury. We hope that the forum will prove to be an excellent opportunity to participate in an open forum for individuals to network whilst providing an arena to discuss common problems and get views from experts in the HR arena and employment law. The first forum meeting takes place at Baker Tilly's office in Bury. Akenham specialises in developing the potential of individuals and their organisations. Their commitment to quality, a collaborative approach to creating effective solutions and a track record of success provides clients with unique opportunity for developing organisational effectiveness, leadership capability & workforce performance. Directors Jane Cox & Will Sambrook, assisted by Senior Outplacement Consultant, Peter Johnstone, will lead a highly interactive and informative session on best practice relating to the challenging subject of terminating employment. Baker Tilly will give a brief presentation on "Making the most of Benefits" covering areas such as: Salary sacrifice - the concept, Using Tax Exemptions, Modernising Reward and Total Reward Statements and Flexible Benefits. This will be led by Cathy Rouse the Director of Employment Consulting at Baker Tilly. Kester Cunningham John's senior employment lawyers will give an update on changes to legislation and how that will effect employers and HR directors and managers. This will be led by Hywel Griffiths, Ross Strowger and June Salmon.

Over the last 2 years, Kester Cunningham John has hosted its own quarterly ladies networking group to assist professional and entrepreneurial women in meeting like-minded individuals. 'One for the Ladies' offers an opportunity to socialise, build business relationships and refer work.
